Thank you, Sir.

I was shooting photos of SpringStreet Bluegrass Band at this year’s Claremore Bluegrass & Chili Festival, doing my thing, moving through the crowd and trying to get some shots of the band from the audience. I had made my way around the perimeter and was heading back towards the stage when Eric Campbell started to sing the old Statler Brothers song "More Than a Name on a Wall". This song almost always brings me to tears- so powerful and beautiful.

As I surveyed my surroundings through the camera lens, I…

Adios, Amigos...

Last month brought great sadness to our musical family.  We bid a fond farewell to two of our favorite people, Patrick Williams and Dan Garber.  We will dearly miss both of them for their unwavering friendship, gentle humor, and especially their music.  It hurts our hearts to know we'll never again jam in the campgrounds with Dan or play Lambrusco'z with Patrick sitting in on a set or two.  Adios, Amigos.  Save us a place in the Circle.

I am a big believer in all things happening for a reason and in their time. T...his year, we celebrated my dad's birthday in January by inviting him and Mom to Tulsa to see the Tulsa Playboys at Cain's Ballroom. In April, Dad and Mom traveled with Steve and me to Nashville to record our album "Daddy", featuring the title song I wrote for him. It…

Sarah Barker & Gypsy Twang is off to the presses!  All the artwork is done, and the manufacturer has everything they need to finish our CDs.  This has been a long time coming in so many ways.  I believe we started recording back in February at Drapp Studios in Tulsa.  Since then, we've been back and forth to Nashville several times for recording, mixing and mastering sessions, run a successful Kickstarter campaign, and even reorganized the band itself.

It's been quite a journey, and I can't even begin…

Gypsy Twang on KUSH 1600 AM

We had our first radio interview last Friday!  Gypsy Twang appeared live on KUSH 1600 AM in Cushing, Oklahoma with the Mojo in the Morning girls, Molly Payne and Joyce Abrams.  Did we ever have a blast!  Those girls are a hoot!  We loved talking to them and singing and playing our songs on the air.  Many thanks to John Williams (harmonica player extraordinaire) for submitting our music to them.  And big thanks to KUSH for having us!  We're KUSH buds now!  You can hear the interview here.

Enjoy!
