Organized by Oklahoma songwriter Susan Herndon and hosted by Ben & Alycia Goeke, this Women of Woodyfest fundraiser is presented to help raise funds for the continuation of the annual Woody Guthrie festival. Held in Woody's birthplace of Okemah, Oklahoma, the festival takes place in July on the weekend closest to his birthday, July 14th. Folks come from all across the country to celebrate the life and legacy of Woody Guthrie, and over the years it has become something akin to a family reunion for songwriters and like-minded people.
