Story

Hank Williams wrote this song in 1951.  It was originally the ‘B’ side to a single called ‘Howlin’ At the Moon’.  It has been recorded many times over the years by just about every country artist you can think of, and still holds up today as one of the best country songs ever written.

I believe we’ve captured the essence of Hank Williams’ lonesome sound in our recording.  ‘I Can’t Help It’ provides the perfect showcase for our Nashville studio musicians, with the fiddle and pedal steel at the forefront.   The lead guitar part and harmonies are spot on as well.

Sit back, relax and let us take you back to the early days of country music.

Lyrics

Today I passed you on the street

And my heart fell at your feet

I can’t help it if I’m still in love with you

Somebody else stood by your side

And you looked so satisfied

I can’t help it if I’m still in love with you

A picture from the past came slowly stealing

As I brushed your arm and stood so close to you

Suddenly I got that old time feeling

I can’t help it if I’m still in love with you

It’s hard to know another’s lips have kissed you

And held you just the way I used to do

Heaven only knows how much I’ve missed you

I can’t help it if I’m still in love with you

No, I can’t help it if I’m still in love with you
